ANNOUNCEMENT: UNAUTHORIZED PRODUCTION Beginning Tuesday, October 31st, 2006 the Teatr Rozrywki in Chorzow, Poland will be presenting an unauthorized version of CANTERVILLE GHOST. This production based on the Teatr Rozrywki concert in October 2000, represents a much earlier draft of the official production now being prepared for Broadway. While many of the same loved songs and characters are found in the 2000 version of the show, we are saddened the Polish audiences will not have the chance to see a vastly improved production. Thus, as producers of CANTERVILLE GHOST, we are not supporting the Teatr Rozrywki production. Since 2000, the show has been produced once in the U.S. as an off-off-Broadway production, as a symphonic concert (Utah Valley Symphony) and as a Equity Workshop in New York. A "demo" recording was created in 2004 followed by a New York marketing launch, "So Wilde!" in 2005. Over this period of time, many artists and collaborators have worked hard to create new and improved songs and orchestrations, characters and script. The show now features the ghost "Oscar" based on Oscar Wilde himself, along with a full-blown, techno fashion show extravaganza, funky rock/jazz arrangements and gospel choir! The show is set to premier in Spring 2007. The Teatr Rozrywki is a wonderful theatre that has done its best to present great musical theatre. As the producers of CANTERVILLE GHOST we feel strongly that Teatr Rozrywki audiences deserve to see the official version of CANTERVILLE GHOST.
